CREAM OF MUSHROOM SOUP!
I know. I know. There's no way someone is raving about the soup when there's crab legs, oysters, prime rib, American wagyu, bone marrow, lamb, gelato, creme brulee, etc. Even when there could be better soups like clam chowder or cioppino. But this unassuming and overlooked soup was my favorite dish at the Bacchanal.
Just try it. No lines or competition. There is something so pleasant about this dish that I hope I can replicate it and make it at home... Otherwise I may find myself dropping $60 for a bowl of soup.
