My roots were bad. Like, OMG I cant believe I've been leaving the house looking like this type of bad. I decided I needed to do something about it ASAP but I hadn't found MY salon here in the valley yet. So, I decided to peruse one of those daily deal sites for their "get it now" deals and needless to say, I was nervous. Going to a new stylist without the recommendation of a close friend or family member is akin to going to the dentist for a root canal. You're paying an arm and a leg for something that you need but who knows if it will turn out right? Ladies, you know what I'm talking about.
Shear Vanity was admittedly not my first choice due to location but, as they say, everything happens for a reason. I called three other places and they were booked (why is you deal still up then?) and rude. When the owner of Shear Vanity answered she didn't hesitate to sweetly tell me to come on in and even let me know that my stylist would be Monique.
The salon was a bit of a drive for me but they didn't even mention I was later than I said I would be when I walked in. Monique was a no nonsense get down to business type of gal. I told her what I wanted and how I thought that would be achieved. She understood the effect I was going for but suggested highlights and lowlights instead. She matched the shades perfectly and I was thrilled with the results. She took her time to make sure everything turned out just right and she even wrote down everything she did on a card to reference the next time I come in. My cut is fab and the color is gorgeous and they gave me a smokin' first timer deal. I can't wait to go back again!
