When it comes to tech, I like to buy things that I can fix. I've been fixing PC's since the 8086 era. ??? WTF is an 8086? Figure it out!
Anyway, there is nothing you can do when an Apple product goes on the fritz. I went to see a Genius and I had to book an appointment days in advance. Forget that!
Went on the apple site and checked on repair centres. Got Glitch Fix for a location. Flipped open the Yelp App and did a quick read. Seemed OK.
I sent an email to them and they told me that they will need to look at the iPad.
Took it in, and they did a quick check - free of charge. Could not get it to charge and it needed to be checked in for a thorough diagnostics and they wanted $20. No issues. They also told me upfront that it may be a Total Unit Replacement - a unit for unit swap for a bunch of cash.
Promised me they will do everything they can and will call me that evening.
Called me and told me they got it to come up a couple of times but nothing consistent. Needed to do a TUR. Gave them my credit card and a couple days later...here I am using it to Yelp.
The price they gave me for the TUR was more than fair.
Would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone that needs expert service.
