I had been here once before and had a burger with a fun fry "grocery cart" and a beer, which was good, but when one of my attendings brought us back here for sushi, I was incredibly impressed. Who knew that a burger joint would also have the best sushi in Phoenix? We chose several of the happy hour rolls, keeping the selections simple (for example, salmon rolls and spicy tuna, without the usual fancy additives). The rolls contain a large amount of fish and very little rice, really highlighting the flavor of the buttery fish. Delicious. We also had some sashimi which was spectacular. Even better - if you ask for it, the chef will chop up some REAL wasabi. I didn't even know that the wasabi I ate at other restaurants wasn't real wasabi, but apparently real wasabi looks like a green salsa and has an incredible taste. Way worth the extra $2. Try some warm saki while you're at it!
We're excited to bring back friends to what is apparently one of the only places in Phoenix where you can get true unadulterated wasabi without the horseradish.
