| - Sa Bai on the Fly served me my first taste of Thai food. Either Thai food itself inherently is cheap, delicious, and nuanced, or this restaurant is excellent. Based on the fact that people still eat non-Thai food all the time, I'm going to assume the latter.
I ordered the avocado curry for about $10. It came hot, well-spiced for a "medium spicyness" dish, and was large and satisfying. Although I am no food critic, it had what I can only call depth of flavor. It was multilayered and unique. I wish I could describe the experience better, but, unfortunately, I don't know how to describe food very well. There was plenty of chicken, the avocado was tastefully present, the sauce was fluid and thick, and it all harmonized well in my mouth, making me let out a little sigh of satisfaction after the first bite.
I would have happily paid about $20 for my meal, hence the 5 stars. The staff was attentive, polite, and helpful, much better than average.
Bear in mind that this was my first exposure to Thai food. Many of the ingredients and spices may have been new to me, so, to someone more accustomed to Thai, perhaps curry like this is the norm. All I know is that it was delicious and cheap, and that I'll be back.
