| - Super fresh, trendy Mexican eats in a boutique hotel. We hit up Gallo Blanco today for lunch and even at 11:45 they had a short wait, so this place is popular. The person I was with promised me the "best guacamole" ever - I was secretly hoping for tableside prep a la "Breaking Bad" but alas, no. Each order is still made individually though so I was able to omit the disgusting onions. Gallo Blanco's guac was damn tasty - huge chunks of fresh avocado and some citrus stuff too - very good.
I ordered a quinoa salad but received a market salad that had sweet potatoes, cranberries, goat cheese and walnuts. I was all up in it when the person I was with was like "hey, didn't you order quinoa?" Whatever - what I got was tasty enough that I didn't care and they did adjust the bill.
My dining partner got some sort of breakfast torta with eggs, beans, chorizo and avocados. It wasn't as sloppy as it sounds and it looked so good that I secretly wanted to punch him in the face, snatch his sandwich and run away with it. But I didn't because violence is wrong, kids.
If I lived in Phoenix, I'd be here regularly.
