  • This company was dispatched by my insurance's emergency roadside service. The call went out at 2pm. I got a confirmation that charity rowing would be here by 340pm. Okay.. not great, but decent. An hour and 40 minutes wasn't terrible. And I had until 5:30pm to get my car to the mechanic by close of business so they could do a slow charge on my battery overnight. 3:20 rolls around and I get an automated message saying the driver was on his way and would be there within 20 minutes. Sweet, right on time. 4:00 rolls around, no call, no show. Called my insurance company back, who called the dispatcher of the towing company, who gave him an ETA of 13 minutes and said the driver would call. Got off the phone. 15 minutes pass, no tow truck... no phone call. I call the dispatcher directly (it's now 4:30 -2.5 hours since the initial call- and I have only an hour to get my car to the mechanic). She throws me on hold for 5 minutes, then looks up my ticket, tells me the driver is en route and she would have him call. 15 minutes later, I call FOR THE THIRD TIME and tell the dispatcher (after another long hold) that I now have 30 minutes to get my car to the mechanic and was told they would be there an hour and a half earlier. I KID YOU NOT- the dispatcher is LAUGHING and says 'oh whoops. It looks like you're out of our regular service area. I didn't see where you were when I took the ticket from your insurance company so I didn't know. Usually I'd just cancel the call but since you've been waiting I won't cancel it. The driver is on greenfield and the US60 now' --- so they were STILL 20 minutes away. I know now I'm screwed and my car isn't making it anywhere in time, I tell her ask much and she just says 'well like I said, I didn't look and see where you were when I took the call' no apology, nothing. When the driver finally shows up, he's nice enough, and seems to know what he's doing. But as he's loading my car he pops it up on the back of the truck so hard it bends the front bumper on my car and pops a couple of screws off!!!!! At this point I'm too upset to deal and don't say a damn word. I mean, he's got my car and my keys. You don't piss off the person who's in care of your expensive property and I have zero faith in this company to do right by me. All in call, I think the only thing 'charitable' about charity tow is that I never have to deal with them again.
