| - Came here for the first time for dinner on Monday with some friends. Best friend wanted to go out for dinner with me b/c it was the actual day of my birthday. Decided to check this place out as I've never been before.
Located off Tenaya and the 215, it took over what used to be called "BJ" but not the same BJ restaurant as many would know.
Interior layout seems pretty open with TONS of screens and projection screens showing different sport games/etc, some "bar seating" with some poker/similar machines widely spread. There are some "arcade" machines spread around the area from the entrance and a small pool table, and jukebox. All accept "tokens" which can be purchased at 25 cents per token or you get 1 token per dollar you spend.
DUE NOTE. THIS IS A CASH ONLY PLACE. Surprisingly i had cash XD
Since we were here for dinner, decided to get some food. Decided to order something simple as best friend wanted try the alligator sausage. Per waiter, it has a very "strong gamey" flavor in comparison to the alligator nuggets as it is from a different part of the alligator (tail vs body?)
I had gotten a hamburger. All toppings listed are free to add without limit, so i went to add everything that sounded good (Bacon, banana peppers, cheddar cheese, guacamole, jalapenos, ketchup, lettuce, mayonnaise, onion, tomato) XD
it took a long while for the food to come out. Whoever is "manning" the kitchen seemed very slow. Even after i received my food, it took a long time for my friend to receive his. We ordered one after another. The burger was very mediocre. Bread was dry. Meat patty was unseasoned. For $7, cant really complain too much since "unlimited toppings". I had ordered a side of curly fries as well ($4). Two of my friends had come here before and said its a decent amount (little less than a basket) so decided to order one and "share" with another friend. My best friend who ordered the alligator sausage had gotten a side of curly fries as well and it had come out to be much less than they had gotten before. We had waited till i got mine to ask about the portion side. I seemed to look like i had gotten more but similar overall. She had asked the waiter and according to him, it is pre-portioned from supplier. Not really worth the $4.
The waiter wasn't kidding about the strong flavor of the alligator sausage. My best friend had taken her first initial bite and i can see her face change immediately. Normally we aren't really affected by gamey-ness of meats (lamb, etc) or fishiness of seafood but WOW... this did pack a punch... Very strong fishy flavor... We wouldnt call it gamey. Not sure what you'd pair in terms of toppings to cut down that flavor. Originally thought maybe tartar sauce would, but now as i write this, i dont think it would either.
As mentioned before, you get a token per dollar spent so out of the few of us. We had gotten a few tokens. 2 of us went to go play pool as it costed 4 tokens per play. We tried to drag it out as long as possible. XD
My best friend decided to get me "the strongest drink" they had which was recommended to be the "190 octane". Very similar to what youd get from Fat Tuesday but oh man, MUCH stronger. As written on the menu, "190 proof alcohol with our famous orange punch". Not sure how much alcohol was in it. On top of it being a frozen drink, it took a while to drink XD
Decent place to hang out or watch sports at. Seating is kind of limited. Lot more floor space to seating ratio.
OH random thought. The jukebox will overtake the audio of whatever is being broadcasted. Don't be a troll and play something during a game. XD (cough)
