First the good news: we walked in and got 2 seats at the corner of the downstairs bar. Now the bad:
My wife's Cosmo was warm, maybe because it sat too long before the bartender served it. It tasted as if it were missing ingredients, such as liqueur and lime.
My basil gimlet was the worst I've ever had. It wasn't cold, and tasted like basil flavored water. I watched the bartender muddle the basil, but couldn't see what else he was doing since he was mixing at the back of the bar. He let it sit while he did other things at the bar and out on the deck. I asked him if it was still cold-he said "yes."
All in all, I made 2 mistakes:
1) I didn't watch to make sure he added gin, lime, and syrup.
2) I didn't send the drink back.
I won't make the mistake of going back.
