It's a beautiful shop to wander into and spend time in. The counter lady is very helpful and accommodating, she will let you know that they offer lessons while directing your eyes to the impressive looking kitchen that sits at the far end of the shop.
I've tried several flavours of macarons -- overall assessment is 5-star appearance (gorgeous looking, perfect shape and form); 4-star Shell (appropriate texture and crumbliness); 2-star filling (most fillings resemble a runny butter cream texture until I put them back in fridge for several hours to help settle. The chocolate-based flavours such as Roche, Turtle, and Black Forest are nicely done with a good balance of deep-chocolatey taste and sweetness. The more subtle flavours like Earl Grey Tea, Taro, etc. don't seem to have enough flavour to contrast strongly with their very sweet taste. For example, Pandan is supposed to have a delicate piney musty flavour, but the "base" butter cream is so sweet it overpowers any hint of Pandan. I do like their fruity ones, Lychee has a distinctive flavour and a nice tang.)
If I am in the area again, I'd be happy to go back just to look at the pretty display.
