  • My boyfriend and I stayed here for three nights and though we both enjoyed the hotel as a whole and were pleased with the restaurants and other amenities (Garden of the Gods and Buffet of Buffets) I don't think we'll be returning anytime soon, if at all. Here's why: Check in and out were a breeze with the self services stations. Navigating from the parking garage (free - yes, one perk) with our many overloaded bags to the room was like competing a Spartan Race... Our room was great - clean, spacious, and luxurious - up until we tried to use the Jacuzzi tub and it spewed tons of unidentified black stands into the water... We brought this to the attention of the hotel and they sent engineering and housekeeping up. When we returned to the room there was a note from engineering saying the job was complete. Housekeeping cleaned up the black things. Fast forward to our last night in Vegas when we planned our night around relaxing in the Jacuzzi tub.... Deja vu. Seeing as it was close to midnight, we called the hotel desk and filed another complaint. The boyfriend told them we were giving up on using the tub but were disappointed since the problem was supposed to be fixed. He made it clear that since it was so late we did not want it to be fixed. Just as we were falling asleep (almost 2am) the phone rang. We didn't pick it up. Seconds later our door opened and someone came in (we assume to fix the tub). We asked them to leave since we were sleeping. The boyfriend couldn't sleep after that and spoke with the front desk about the rude awakening. The worst wake up though happened at 3:30am on our second night when a concerning alarm stating that there was an unidentified emergency and that we should stay calm and in our room was blaring in our ears. The automated loud speaker message said that security would keep us "apprised of the situation". After what felt like 10-15 minutes and of the alarm going off and another half hour of being freaked out and thinking worst case scenarios, the alarm stopped. We called the front desk and they said everything was probably fine but to stay in our room until security said otherwise. Lovely way to relax on vacation. Needless to say, we never heard from security and had to call to find out that it was a hot shower that set off the smoke alarm. REALLY?? Either we were lied to or they need to fix their smoke alarm so it doesn't alert the whole hotel of some unknown emergency. For all of our inconveniences we did get some monetary resolution. While I respect that the hotel tried to better a not- so-great stay, money doesn't fix the fact that we spent a lot on what we thought would be a fun and relaxing getaway. Not so relaxing when you can't use the amenities you paid for or get more than one night of uninterrupted sleep....
