| - We came into Cleveland on Friday morning and stayed at another hotel from Friday through Sunday morning. We were in town for the Detroit Tigers/Cleveland Indians series, and when we found out the Sunday game got moved to 8pm, we wanted to stay overnight on Sunday as well. Not wanting to spend another $150 on our Marriott, we found this room instead, and it was perfect for one night! This hotel was gorgeous! I've never seen a hotel with wooden floors throughout the entire property. We were surprised - in a good way - to see our room was wooden floors as well! My only complaints about the hotel were the VERY small elevators, and the smell of our room. The elevators were tiny - by the time we rolled a luggage cart in, the three of us had to squeeze into the elevator...and the door tried to shut on us twice. Lesson learned - pack light and move quickly lol. The smell was also a bit of an issue for us. It's an old building with wood floors, we get that it's not going to smell the best. Our room however had a lingering mildew mixed with cigarettes smell. We wanted to light a candle, but the $250 fine and eviction warning was enough to make us change our minds - thank god for Febreze! Other than those two minor things, the hotel was fantastic! We were within walking distance of Progressive Field, which was perfect for us walking home from the game. The game ended around midnight, so being able to walk a couple of blocks and crawl into bed on a Sunday night instead of walking for an Uber was a major plus! Checkout was at 11, but we weren't ready to end our vacation just yet, so we asked if the hotel could hold our luggage and car for a couple of hours while we checked out the city some more. They were so nice and accommodating for us!
