This spa was awful from the moment I walked in. A receptionist greeted me but made me feel like I was bothering her, and then have me a lackluster tour back to the locker room (If that's what you can call it). I then met the locker attendant, again felt like I was bothering her as well.
Onto the facilities......there is zero ambiance and warmth to this place. The jacuzzi was out while I was there, which is no big deal, I can live without that. The sauna was not warm at all - I was a little bit cold sitting inside there and when i inquired if it was working properly was given a curt reply of yes. The Eucalyptus steam room smelled like mildew - not surprising considering the stained and dingy looking tiles all around inside. I didn't make it more than 5 seconds in there.
I got a 50 minute massage - this service is originally prices at $115, and there was a $20 off card in my hotel room (please don't be put off the Paris hotel bu this - that was great and my beef is only with the spa). The massage therapist was young and I think either very recently out of school or just really complacent with her work. There were just a whole lot of little things that made the whole service not good - she breathed VERY loudly, she kind of hurt my neck and she did this really weird ting with my fingers - not relaxing. Then to top it off when I looked in the mirror afterwards my hair was completely coated in oil.
I was planning to say something when I left but both receptionists were on the phone and when I smiled and waved to the one that checked me in she just stared at me - no smile, nothing. i got really pissed at this point and ran out of there. Mys sister also had a horrible experience with her facial - her skin tech was rude, abrupt, wouldn't answer any questions and again gave the impression that she was being bothered by the service.
I work in a luxury resort spa in the Phoenix market, so I do have a lot of experience with spa treatments and facilities. I know what good service is and this spa was a total waste of time and money. I am planning on writing to the spa director or whomever in management to let them know my thoughts - hopefully they are interested. If I get a response i will re post here. I would recommend either Qua at Caesars or the spa at The Wynn - gorgeous facilities and some people that actually care about their job.
