I'm not sure how I feel about One Ten Cafe! I really wanted to like it.
This is a really small cafe just west of Yonge on Finch. The whole place is incredibly Instagrammable and a millennial/teenage girl's dream... mason jars, millennial pink, white walls, random neon sign, edison bulbs, light boxes, succulents, white marble... you'll find all of it in this little space. I know lots of people would like it, but it just felt a bit forced to me. I like seeing more creativity in decor you know? The tables (I hesitate to call them tables... they just stick out from the wall) and chairs/barstools are quite tall and not very comfortable. I was planning to work here but changed my mind afterwards. There is a cute mini claw machine that you can play after you purchase something! You can get things like chocolates or coupons toward your next purchase.
The people who worked there were friendly! I ordered the maca-matcha because I was seeing it everywhere and found it to be an odd drink. The macarons were not bad and the cream at the top was nice. They tell you to eat the macarons first, which I did! But the matcha was not sweet at all and the contrast was a bit jarring and so it went from very sweet to not sweet at all. It was quite pricey as well - 7 or 8 dollars for this one drink. I don't mind trying it once to try something new but this drink was a bit disappointing. I think next time I'll get a different drink... lesson learned. Don't always trust Instagram! I think I'll probably update this review with a higher rating if I go back because this was just based on one drink.
