I have a theory that if the host/hostess shows a poor attitude, then the rest of the eating experience is going to be just as poor. So far, this theory has held up and Osteria Costa proved it once again. The two hostesses were miserable. They didn't smile, they didn't make eye contact and they displayed a bad attitude. We asked for menus and their body language screamed of snobbery. When we decided the menu looked appetizing, one of the hostesses grumbled, "Um, do you have a reservation?"
No.
"You can sit at the bar then." She looked down and pointed at the bar. Obviously we were chopped liver.
We sat. The waitress walked by us several times. No one said diddly to us.
That's when we left. We apparently weren't worthy to eat here.
I hate places like this. The service was horrific and it doesn't matter how good the food is acclaimed to be. Service is king, but all I can say about this place is that the service royally sucked.
