| - A DealChicken coupon introduced us to this place. We came late for lunch and were pleasantly surprised to see a few tables occupied. We can get a bit nervous if a restaurant doesn't have any patrons. Most times, we will turn around and leave.
We ordered the Fried Calamari app and the Garlic Verde Shrimp app. The calamari was too chewy and the batter they used was blah (the best fried calamari that we have had here in the valley is at Olive and Ivy). The shrimp was overcooked (they were on the larger side and there were five of them), but still edible.
For our main course, we split the SAUSAGE CARAMELIZED ONION 'za. We were pleasantly surprised! We are rather particular when it comes to our 'za. We compare all 'za to Pizzeria Bianco's 'za (if you've never had their 'za - RUN! GO! NOW! GET IN LINE! IT'S WORTH THE WAIT!!!). So, we were hesitant, but excited, to try their 'za. When the waiter placed it on the table, it was actually pretty. Yes, I said pretty. And it was DAMN good! A wee bit greasy, but we can let that slide b/c it had sausage. The onions were really dee-lish, as was the sausage!
Ironically, they were running a LivingSocial deal the same day that we were dining there and decided that we'd take advantage of that offer and go back and get two 'zas. We'll see how good they are a second time around! Would we dine here without a coupon? We'll have to see how they are with this second visit and then make that decision. :)
