  • It's funny how people who live in cities for a long time never visit any of the city's landmarks. For example I'm pretty sure that there are people who have lived in New York City who have never been to the Statue of Liberty. The point of trying to make is that people really need to explore their home once in a while, I am one of them I have lived in Las Vegas for 16 years and it wasn't until last year that I discovered this little oasis in the desert. Last summer a girl I was dating at the time suggested we go to the Springs Preserve, and me being naive I asked what the hell is that. Needless I was pretty surprised when I go there. The Preserve is very beautiful and fun! I never I could have so much fun exploring nature. It's very educational and a great place to take the whole family, which when we got there were hundreds of families. There's a concert area dedicated towards special events, a nice little restaurant, a desert ecosystem, and a cool swamp area to explore just to name a few of the locations. The only gripe I have with this place is the parking. Apparently we went during some special event the preserve was hosting so we had to park three blocks away and walk in the middle of July to get into the place. I'm just lucky is was cloudy but still! All in all it is a very entertaining place and a very good idea for a date. It should not be missed by any local looking for a nice afternoon out.
