| - Today was my 4th visit to Blazin Nails. Aside from being turned away once due to the time of my arrival (45 minutes before closing) and not being offered a same day appointment on another occasion over the phone (for later in the afternoon), I have had good customer service. However, today I was dissapointed and because it had to do with my money, a 1 star it is!
The visit started with a broken massage chair, after I informed them they explained what was probably wrong. Nearly every chair was open, including the one to the left and right of me, so I had to explain that I actually like the massage function on the chairs and had to ask for a new one. Afterall, their pedicures start at $26!
My manicurist (Jay) seemed to be rushing but I trusted he knew what he was doing as I had a decent experiences with other manicurist here prior. At the end of my service AFTER paying for my pedicure and gel manicure, I realized my total for the SAME service I always get was different from last time (more from what I recalled). During my service, I told my manicurist that I would be bringing my husband in for a mani pedi before our vacation departure. I wanted to know what the breakdown cost of my services were, so I knew for future services and so I knew what to plan for ($) when I returned with hubby. My manicurist had a difficult time explaining the break down of my services. So, another gentleman who spent most of the evening playing on his phone came over to "assist". I told him both scenarios I wanted clarification on and he complied. I also told him that it seemed like my total (mind you- I already paid and tipped) was more and I also wanted to know what the basic service fees were for hubby. (No, their fees are not posted anywhere-red flag) He (BJ) answered my question for hubby's services but as he was attempting to break down my service cost he realized (with the help of my manicurist in their native language) that they supposedly didn't charge the supposed gel rockstar fee that he tried to explain in his break down. Well, once BJ started stumbling over his own words he decided that I owed the shop another $5. LOL What?! He asked to see the pictures I showed them earlier from my last visit (when trying to pick colors) to prove I had been there before, asking who serviced me, etc. and eventually just asked for my card again. Yes, the "manager"! So basically he punished me for questioning their cost. Shame on me I guess. Ofcourse I complied because I didn't want to argue at all or cause a scene, but I also changed my tip amount on my original receipt just as a principle but still came out paying more. Let's assume for a minute it was their honest mistake, who does that?! Swallow the $5, apologize for YOUR mistake and advise of what it should be or will be next time, especially because you have already charged me! Now, there is no next time. They have lost $120+ a month from me plus tips, my husbands visit, and maybe the customer reading this too.Too many other nail shops that do great jobs in the city to always wonder how much at every visit and to be treated like this. Thanks but no thanks.
Update: Less then 2 hours later my "rockstar polish" they claimed was not included in my original gel manicure total, yes the extra $5 they made me pay, started peeling! By the end of the same night all of my nails were beginning to peel. They were sticky and making my fingers gooey. The "rockstar" or glitter gel on some of my nails was completely gone and the 1st coat smeared. By the time I woke up the next morning, I had glitter gel peels all over my bed. My nails were awful! I was so embarrassed to attend my planned events the following day. So, my husband went with me the following morning at opening so I could request a refund and just respectfully part ways. BJ was the only manager there again to talk to me. I asked to talk to him in private, because again I did not want to cause a scene in their business establishment, although a part of me wanted to yell "ruuuuuun while you can". BJ's face looked like he saw a ghost when he saw my nails. He offered to redo but 1. I don't trust him AT ALL 2. I had 0 time for that which is why I came the night before and 3. My husband and 6 year old son was with me & I rather pay someone else to take the rest of this crap off my fingers. I was polite, I was calm, and I told him what I wanted so I could go my separate way without having to take legal matters. He agreed and said his "boss" (Richard) will have to issue my refund but he was in California and would be back by 6:30 p.m. I gave him my name and cell phone number and he promised he would call to take care of the refund, but nothing. This shop is unprofessional and they do not know how to deal with business matters. They stole over $60 from me and I have NOTHING to show for except the worst nail shop experience of my life. Never again! Please go somewhere else, don't bother!
