Tessie's is a gem.
But you have to know what to expect. This isn't a luxurious, chain pub in downtown Toronto. Tessie's is a small little establishment, with old-looking booths/chairs and an eclectic mix of decorations on the wall. The clientele leans a bit older, but there's a good selection of beers/hard alcohol, so if you're there to have a few drinks and a good time, not immerse yourself in some hipster crowd, you should be set :)
It's a stones throw from where I live, and a lot of fun, so it is a regular destination.
