Here's a tip for those who don't know. "Sprouts" stores have a discount of a nickel (five cents) for refusal of the store's plastic carry bags.
Yet, over a lousy nickel, the cashier was arguing with my wife. She'd left her big, blue recyclable fabric carry bag in the car. He was some kind of a "bag cop" who had to see it or something. The guy, despite his laid back exterior was going on how you're meant to bring it in and it's not just for a refusal of taking plastic bags, etc. So stuck on rules he was that he missed the whole concept of caring for the environment and what about caring for the customers...?
My wife did put the items in her handbag to appease him for the nickel. He finally took a nickel off the receipt.
You'd think he personally was losing that nickel out of his own pocket. Really unbelieavable to argue if you're in customer service. My wife is always trying to do the right thing if she can and found him plain rude.
This is not our usual "Sprouts Farmers Market." Thank goodness! Anyhow, if you're in that store please remember to bring in your own bags. You mightn't be trusted if you leave them in the car.
