  • Ummmm....what?! $0.50 a load for Dave's Killer Bread. Why am I just learning about this place? I was cruising down Southern and I was overtaken by the smell of fresh baked bread. Then out of nowhere appears this giant bakery/distribution center with Alpine Valley Bread signage festooned on the building skin. Almost blending in with the landscape is a small storefront with discounted bread. I pulled a U and stopped in. I was not sure what to expect when I walked in but I rubbed my eyes as I thought I was reading the prices incorrectly. $0.50-$1.50 for bread that sells in the store for $5+ a loaf. I bagged a few loaves and looked around to see what else was for sale; some pastries, jam/marmalade, soft drinks, and few other things. I think I just found my favorite place for bread.
