  • I will tell you that 5 stars are simply inadequate for reviewing Zenergy Dog training! In fact there are not enough stars in this galaxy to reflect how completely thrilled we are with the work K and RJ have done with our sweet dog Rajah. I first met K and RJ from a distance when Rajah was 7 months old. We had gone to dinner and brought the puppy who we felt was very well behaved. He was, mostly...I had been training him since we brought he and his sister home at 5 weeks. While at home he had great recall and pretty good obedience. However out in the world that day, we had a spoiled little brat! K and RJ entered the restaurant with two quiet attentive dogs, one a young puppy. Both dogs appeared to be completely mesmerized by them, following them quietly with their eyes and their calm little bodies. My friend and I watched them enter the restaurant and the dogs lay down quietly at their feet. Meanwhile, my guy, was UP on his feet, would not follow my commands to lay down, intently watching the other dogs, then going into a play stance. Finally to my complete mortification, he STARTED BARKING. I used all the tools I had in my book. I took him out of the space , walked him around and then started using commands to distract him. Fergtabouit!!!He was bound and determined to PLAY and have some fun. RJ came out to where I was and started talking to me explaining something about me touching him while in a heighted state would only heighten the state more, but honestly all I could hear was "BLAH BLAH BLAH", like the mom on Charlie Brown , as I was so anxious and embarrassed that my sweet "well behaved dog " was completely out of control. I finally got him a little calmer and paid the bill and skeedattled. I left there feeling really irritated, and felt all judgey about why the dogs with K and RJ were so calm, and thought with massive indigence "they are probably shocking the dogs". So I looked up the website and read about the e collar and because I was STUPID, still was indignant and chalked it up to "shocking the dogs". Fast forward to 2 months later, when we spend the summer in Massachusetts. Mostly a good dog (he flew in the plane quiet as a mouse as an emotional support dog for my son), he started to really act adolescent. When on a walk he would start jumping on me to play, grabbing his leash, wanting to run after people running or biking and just no longer following commands nearly as well as before. My sweet, now 8 month old puppy weighed about 85 pounds. He is a Great Pyreenes and a LARGE one, we expect he will top out at 140-160# someday. I started to freak out as I have had the plan to use him as a therapy dog for my work, this behavior would not work! I revisited the Zenergy website and THIS time thought thru what I saw. I then called and spoke with RJ. He remembered me! And Rajah! He had a lot of great advise and a great calming manner , for me, and we made back to AZ unscathed . Our initial plan was to do one on one training with me and the dog and Zenergy, as he had a lot commands down. I had been working with him every day since we got him. HOWEVER, after the 2nd lesson, I decided to do the boot camp. BEST DECISION EVER!! We now, after one week, have a dog I can and do, take everywhere, and the first thing people say ( after "what a beautiful dog" ) is how well behaved he is. It is a fabulous feeling to take your dog out knowing he is going to do as you say and not misbehave. Awesome recall, calm on command, does as he is asked and lies down quietly for as long as I tell him to. He is still just as sweet, no change in personality. I have learned the true meaning of how to be the best pack leader I can to him. Zenergy teaches you and your dog much, much more than just commands, but truly how to communicate with your dog, and lets your dog understand what you expect of him. They help you understand and avoid the common mistakes that we people often make with our dogs, because we love them, but then provide the recipe for misbehavior by not setting the appropriate limits and structure for them. My husband and children were amazed at his transformation. Neighbors too! Always a good dog he is now AMAZING!! Yes they use e collars. The setting my dog works off of I cannot feel. At the point I can feel it, it feels like a Tens unit. NOT shock.DUH! Zenergy trains the dogs in their home which is a lovely, immaculate, safe, warm setting. Their own dogs, who of course are perfectly behaved, are mentors to the untrained little heathens entering boot camp. They taught Rajah how to play appropriately and have nice puppy manners with other dogs. K and RJ approach dog training with an incredible passion, kindness, an enormous wealth of knowledge and love. I am so grateful to the Universe for putting us in their path, I can't imagine ever using a different trainer or a different method. THEY ROCK!! Worth every CENT!! We couldn't be happier! So there, from a total skeptic to singing the Hallelujah chorus!!!
