| - If I were to die, I hope that heaven is like La Cav. Everything about this place makes me happy. It is practically dark as you walk in, but it isn't a "bad" dark. It's very appropriate. You can see, but a lot of the lighting comes from candles and the bar. There are tables in open areas as well as tucked away in corners, so you can be as secluded as you want.
Now...the good stuff. It is called "The Wine Cellar," and I have had my share of wine there (all great wines), but I go for the beer. They have just about any microbrewed or out-of-the-ordinary beer that you can think of. If you're looking for Miller Lite, McNulty's is right next door. Sure, I've had some beers that I wasn't a fan of, but I think that is part of the fun of trying something new.
After a few drinks, La Cav also has a pretty solid selection of class bar food (aka killer cheese trays). Nothing makes me happier after a few drinks than cheese and spicy Italian meats.
If you have never been to La Cav, go there. It might not be your usual scene, but it is worth going just to have the experience.
