I have a havanese that is a strong and healthy 2 y/o. I applied for health insurance with embrace and all was fine until i got a note that they had done "a routine check of my dog's health records." As a result of his first visit to the vet when he was a puppy and had a touch of diarrhea, they labelled it a pre existing condition and wouldn't cover it until he had gone a year without symptoms. I asked about paw licking (i'd seen him do it once) and he got labeled as having skin conditions (won't cover at all, ever). I asked about training to be sure that he isn't aggressive (small dogs can get that way) and they labelled him aggressive and said that they would never cover any incident - even if he is attacked by another dog or animal. There was more but suffice to say it covered pretty much everything that could go wrong with a dog. They offered to "consider an appeal" with a note from my vet but that was clearly a ruse - those things were in the file, the vet couldn't say that I hadn't asked about those things. Rip off.
