With its Dream in High Park Theatre (http://www.yelp.ca/biz/high-park-outdoor-amphitheatre-toronto), the Canadian Stage Theatre Company is one of the only year-round theatre companies in Canada. With three stages available, they are able to run several shows simultaneously throughout their season. The theatre that they put on can sometimes be challenging and other times not so, but that is the risk of any theatre company.
With its two stages at its Berkeley Street location, the downstairs theatre provides a small intimate setting to see some truly great theatre. It was this theatre that staged "Angels in America" when it came to Canada and was put on by the Canadian Stage. The Berkeley Street location also houses an upstairs black box theatre that allows smaller theatre companies to perform their pieces as part of festivals or independent productions. It's nice to the theatre company can provide both types of theatres to not only performers putting on shows but also the public who wish to see them. Between the independent feel of the upstairs theatre and the intimacy of the downstairs theatre, Canadian Stage provides two truly great venues for the theatre community in Toronto.
