Meh, is the word that comes to mind when I think about our experience at this steakhouse. This was my first time at this restaurant. I had really high hopes, considering it is Tom Colicchio's restaurant. I had the hanger steak and it was mediocre. I've had hanger steaks at several different restaurants in the past and this was by far the worst. We ordered mushrooms to share at the table and they were flavorless. Typically mushrooms are cooked in wine, or sautéed in butter, but these were hard, very woody and were not transformed at all. For the price they charge at this restaurant I expect a lot better.
With the above said, service was very good and some of the appetizers we ordered were really good. The arugula salad was excellent, the puréed potatoes were very good and the prosciutto was fantastic. However, considering this is a steakhouse and we were all underwhelmed with our steaks, I can't in good conscience recommend this to anyone.
