There's a lot of ice cream available in this part of town. Thankfully Scoop and Joy set themselves apart with fun candy faces built onto the scoops. The ice cream is good although my scoop of vanilla bean was a bit soft. Others didn't seem that way - maybe vanilla bean isn't all that popular.
They have a good selection of flavors and a variety of cones including cookie cones.
While the faces are cute and a must for any kid, they are mostly decorative and don't really add to the flavor. There are other ice cream places that incorporate different elements as part of the scoop like chips or coffee beans. Lappert's ice cream is good but if you're looking for small batch, hand-made ice cream with local ingredients, you will need to go elsewhere.
