| - This would have been a one star review had it not been for Mike coming on his day off to do our move. Mike and his partner did an amazing job. They were very professional and worked hard for the duration of the move and they deserve recognition for their great work!
But, before this... I scheduled a move for this past Saturday. They confirmed it would be between 11am and 3pm which was fine. One of the movers named Corey called me that morning saying he would be there between 2pm and 3pm. After 3pm coming and going with no call as to when they would arrive, I called Corey back. He said he was on another job until 7pm and would not be available. He seemed confused as to why I was calling him, and I was equally confused as to why someone would tell me they would be there, and then tell me later that they weren't showing up? He told me to call the company back. I tried calling the company line, but they were already closed, so I called him again and left a message saying that I had to move, today, and now I don't know what to do. He called back and said he would cancel the job at the place they were at, and come to my apartment. Great.
They show up around 6pm, and it's pouring rain. They seem nice enough and were very apologetic about the mix up with their previous client which I understand, and say they will see about getting me a discount due to all the trouble (didn't happen). They start moving everything despite the rain. Less than an hour in, they say that they can't work in the rain anymore, and ask if they can come back in the morning or send another crew the next today. Even though I was supposed to be out Saturday afternoon and turn in my keys to my leasing office. But I didn't want to risk anything with them moving my heavier things down the slippery stairs, so I agree and they say they will try to have someone out as early as 8am.
8am the next morning and no one has called me or showed up. We try calling and texting Corey, no answer or response. At 9am we call the company, and they say they will make sure we get someone here to do our move, but not before making a comment about how they "squeezed me in"- if I thought my move was being "squeezed in", I would have used a different company who would have made sure to show up. But anyway, Mike calls me around noon, and is here soon afterwards. From there on out, they do a great job and after my many panic attacks about not being able to move, they finally got it done.
After having to miss 2 days work and explaining to my leasing office why I had to turn my keys in the next day (twice) I was still less than pleased with dealing with this company. And when I was called the next morning by the billing department to pay for the move, they didn't seem to know anything about the situation and the promise of a discount or someone calling me regarding my horrible experience. I at least got the discount for booking through Yelp. And, as requested by them, here is my honest review.
They do quality work, and I'm sure this was just a fluke, but after 2 days of hell and still having to pay nearly $500 to move my one bedroom apartment I can't say I would use them again. Moving across the country was easier than moving across the courtyard of my apartment complex.
