| - I actually booked my trip, partially, around making sure I could enjoy level 1.5, which had been closed during my last weekday trip. I always found these cocktails most intriguing, one in particular called Sandia?? which had a watermelon base and coconut ginger foam. I was greatly saddened to see the cocktail gone. Seriously... pathetic but I was genuinely saddened.
Anyhow, I show up to 1.5 on a Friday night. Anticipating a crowd later, I pulled a bartender to the side and introduced myself. I handed Matt the Mohawk a $20 and said I'll be around, please remember me, before I even ordered a drink, hoping to ensure some service. FAIL. He didn't know the Sandia & suggested it was at another bar (another bar tender piped in & said no, it was a cocktail from an old menu)--anyway, an indication he doesn't know his product well... or that he just likes to BS customers. I enjoyed the Dragonfire (its really too sweet and the nitrogen raspberries are fun, but don't have an enjoyable taste). I ordered another drink with a Thai influence, and again it was sweet to the point of being off-putting. Now... I'm not just gonna spend $14 plus tip on a cocktail and not drink it. I mentioned to him it was too sweet and asked if he could do something to tone it down. "Well, it's a sweet drink," the Mohawk responded.... no kidding.
There was another gentleman there with a darker complexion and a great smile--look for him & stay away from Matt the Mohawk! I guess he thinks he deserves $20 for letting the ladies look at that beautiful, super-creative haircut, because I had to chase him down for every overly sweet drink I ordered.
