This is our to go to for soft serve /ice cream in the area. If you're not a fan of waiting, try to go before peak hours- the difference between matters in the line up!
Recently we went a little bit later and the wait was about 15-20 minutes (parking was full) we got our orders just fine- my brother ordered cookies and cream and the girl told us it came with caramel- we got a cheesecake sundae ; double chocolate ice cream and proceeded back to the car. It was a hot September night so I rolled back all the windows. My brother opted to hold on to his ice cream instead of putting it in the cooler.
Moments later zipping down Lakeshore, my brother in the backseat, holding his ice cream pipes up:" my ice cream is melting! " in a panicky voice. I calmly say there is nothing I can do to stop the ice cream from melting so we continue on. Later my dad asked to roll up the windows because there was too much wind. He looks over to my brother and sees him and tells him- don't move anything! We'll do it for you- which puzzled me.
When we got home we opened the car door my brother was in and guess what? The ice cream had not only melted, but was melted down like a waterfall down the sides of the cup, makings pools of milky goodness on my brother's clothes and the car seat!
For sure it was a chuckle when the rest of the family heard about it, we tested out the other ice cream and indeed for some reason the ice creams were very (prone to) melty that night.
