| - We had a filtration failure in our refrigerator and in less than a hour it flooded 5 rooms ! Well after turning off the water main we called Quick Dry , we had used them before for another water flooding issue and we were very happy with their service. So when Quick Dry came in and suggested J&J Contracting we said we would give him a call. I'm not sure who gave him our number but Javier of J&J Contracting called in a hour!, the middle of the havoc of dealing with flooding. My husband told him it was a bad time to call and to call me (Wife) the next morning . Well he did call the next morning and was very polite and came 2 hours later as we agreed. He walked in and we stood talking about what I wanted , that being that I wanted to lay tile instead of replacing carpet. He said that he would turn one estimate into the insurance company of cost to repair damages, and give me a written estimate for would it would cost me above what the insurance company would cover. He then told my that they might have a problem paying for full replacement , I then told him that Samsung was paying for ALL damages. My repairman had just written a detailed report for my insurance company that my 2 year old Samsung Refrigerator failed. Well he was all smiles and telling me everything he would do , never even taking out a measuring tape, it was as if he were selling himself. His attitude changed when I told him that he was my 1st estimated, and my adjuster was bringing me a list of preferred contractors I could use on Tuesday. At that point Javier got defensive stated he wasn't on their preferred list, and stated the contractors all use the same guide lines and started stating things I could do to save money, like buying my own tile , and so forth. I'm not worried about money, I'm not paying for anything , Samsung is. It my feeling that material should be added into his estimate. When I said just write a estimate and after I get a few of them I would let him know either way if I would hire him. I couldn't believe what came out of his mouth next ! He said he wouldn't give me a written estimate because then homeowner use it to get a lower price from another contractor and that many homeowners have cost him jobs ! I told him I was never so insulted and that I have hired dozens of contractors over the years and never was I sooo insulted by one than he insulted me ! So when a flood damage company comes into your house and refers J&J Construction be smart!, would you give a stranger a blank check or a contractor
