| - My husband and I travel to Scottsdale quite often and have talked about staying at Scottsdale Princess and, sure enough, my husband came across a Groupon for one of their Casita Suites which sounded much more enticing than a regular room. So, we booked our stay during the week before the 4th of July weekend as we generally prefer going off season and try to avoid holiday crowds and it couldn't have been more timely and enjoyable.
The Casita Suites are situated towards the back of the property overlooking the TPC golf courses, with a separate pool area as well as separate parking which you access
with a key card. We arrived on a Wednesday and our area was exceptionally quiet and peaceful. The room was comfortable and inviting--vaulted ceiling with fan, sitting area, large TV, very comfortable bed(s) and a balcony overlooking the golf course. The balcony was also perfectly positioned to enjoy the beautiful fireworks display Friday night. We also requested a refrigerator as well as a microwave for our room which certainly made things much more convenient. The bathroom was large with duel sinks, a walk-in shower and a large closet. Since we had our little Shih Tzu with us, they also provide us with some "Pet Amenities" that included a water & food bowl along with a mat, a pet bed, toy and a door hanger to let housekeeping know we had a special guest with us.
We also had very enjoyable meals at the Plaza Bar as well as La Hacienda but ventured off property for the majority of our dinning.
Although we had an excellent vacation there were just a few minor things that could have made the stay a bit better: Since we did have our dog with us, we were disappointed that we
didn't get a downstairs suite especially once we realized how many downstairs Casitas were empty. When my husband mentioned a downstairs suite the young lady checking us in made it sound like they had already gotten our luggage, microwave & fridge set up in the upstairs suite which they had not. Our room also had two double beds instead of the king bed as requested. Our bathroom fan rattled quite a bit, and the lighting wasn't really conducive for putting on makeup even with the vanity mirror. I was also a bit disappointed that the large tub in the bathroom wasn't jetted. And, parking was a $20 per day charge in addition to the resort charge. Also, if you are dining on property be sure to check the restaurant hours as they do vary seasonally.
Overall, we had a very enjoyable stay and look forward to going back.
