Was referred by a friend to this practice so I thought I would try it since I am really picky with doctors. So I took my daughter for the first time there for her 2 year check up. On her visit they charged me, which btw I shouldn't have been charged since our insurance covers it. We have no copay for wellness check ups. Since it was her 2 year appt everything should've been fine. But nope I was billed on the spot. Even after I explained that's not accurate and for them to call my insurance. The front desk told me to its the way they code it, I need to pay it and then fix it later with their billing department. Well I left msg after msg for billing and never got a response. They called for her next wellness appt and we went in she got shots and didn't see her Dr, they explained that we will see him when the results come back and wasn't billed. Went home and then a few days later they called to rebook another appt for her followup to the shots she took. Checked into her appt and they tried to tell me that I owe them $40. Questioned the charge, and again was told it was because the way they code it. And that in order for us to see our Dr we had to pay the copay even tho it was a followup to her initial appt. The Dr won't be able to explain the results in person and actually do her wellness check unless we pay it. How does that even make sense to anyone? They said the visit where she took her shots are considered her wellness check up even tho we didn't even see her Dr at all. We have really good insurance and we only pay to see her doctor if it's an emergency visit and that cost is only $25. I even tried explaining that to them and they still magically came out to $40 instead. Even after I made them call my insurance and the agent explained to them exactly the same thing they still insisted I was wrong and that the agent didn't understand. Haha. Can you believe that? That the insurance company doesn't even understand their own policies? What a joke. I tried talking to the manager of the office and he still didn't listen and tried to tell me that I don't understand my own coverage. That's funny considering I've never had this problem before. I left pissed off and still never got my refund from billing for the first visit and not because It was lack of trying, they just never returned my calls. I really did like Dr Hailstone but will never go back to this practice because of our experience.
