I have been waiting for a while to try this food truck and I am so glad I made the walk in the misty rain to Stonewall and College Street, which is where they were today. Like most food trucks, I follow them on social media for schedule updates.
We arrived just after they did, but setup didn't take that long. They started taking orders since they told us it takes 5-7 minutes for each order. Today the menu consisted of their signature fries with various toppings (steak and shrimp, steak, cheesy and truffle). They also have burgers (Single, double and triple) and a Mac and cheese burger. I went for the truffle fries and a single burger.
The fries are out of this world. They look freshly cut and are seasoned to begin with, which is a treat in itself. The truffle fries have a creamy truffle oil aoli sauce and parmesan cheese. And there was plenty of sauce on the fries. I couldn't stop eating them.
The burger was larger than I expected. I opted for a single thinking it would be small. It comes with cheese, tomato, lettuce and a garlic mayo. The patty was cooked medium well which is how I like it. And the bun to burger ratio was perfect. The garlic mayo set it apart from other burgers. It was delicious.
And props to the truck for to go packaging that keeps the food warm all the way back to my office. I was worried with everything getting too soggy, but it didn't.
This is one of the best food trucks I've had in Charlotte.
