The owner is a cool, gentlemanly fellow who repaired a bad bit of elastic on my new sandals in a few minutes, custom dying the elastic. This is obviously way below his talents. I'm wondering if he makes shoes.
I will be back to have some beautiful but tight clogs stretched (is anyone else between two of those blasted European sizes??). And any future European sized shoes I buy (now that I know I can buy them and Mr. Mahfouz can make them fit).
I am also going to take in my European walking shoes and have a thicker sole put on. (For $100+, you'd think they could spring for some decent soles at the manufacturer.)
It's such a shame to throw out or donate good shoes for lack of a good repair place or the right soles. (Beautiful leather replacement insoles for sale btw.)
Not expensive, either. They could probably raise their prices a bit for that neighborhood! I'll pay the rates to keep a real craftsperson in business.
Nice big sofa to wait on.
"No man is rich enough to buy cheap shoes." And few of us can afford to throw out expensive ones.
