Great Wall Bookstore is located at the Chinatown Mall, next door to No. 1 Boba Tea. I stopped by here after I finished my tea next door. What grabbed my attend was all of the red Chinese lanterns hanging from the ceiling inside the store. Just a sea of red, it peaked my interest, which prompted me to go inside.
I was expected to find Chinese newspapers, DVDs, comics (like Old Master Q aka Lou Fu Zi... does anyone remember those comics?). I did see those things inside (well not the Old Master Q comics though) but also Japanese Anime, Sanrio and other cute Asian characters (like Totoro).
The prices for all of the cute Asian figurines are pricey, so I didn't purchase anything.
There was also a huge section of blank journals for purchase which I thought was interesting.
Anyways, this store is definitely messy with stuff piled everywhere and also stacked up on the floor. There is also yellow signs to remind you that you are being filmed and to deter the shoplifters (lol, such an Asian thing to do).
A nice store to browse in. May find an unexpected item but it will cost you a pretty penny.
If you are already in the Chinatown Mall, doesn't hurt to stop and take a look inside. This store isn't that big so it won't take too much of your time.
