  • It seems like Dolce runs Groupon specials about once every 6 months. Roughly about a year ago I saw that Groupon come through so I Yelped Dolce and saw the less than stellar reviews. I opted against buying it. Apparently I had amnesia because 6 months later, they ran more Groupons for 50% off and I purchased 4 of them. I yelped Dolce again and realized, "OH SHIT, this is the place I didn't want to go to!" UGH. Anyway, I took the advice of some reviewers and asked for their most experienced stylist, who happened to be a level 7 that day. Her name escapes me but my first interaction with her was cold and unfriendly. I don't think I've ever had a stylist that doesn't smile or looks like they're pained to be working. In any case, I was willing to look past it. After all, I have no problem burying my head in magazines for an hour. I brought in pictures of graduated bobs that I wanted, and she indicated that having it as short as I wanted and layered in the back wouldn't work well for my hair type. I figured I'd listen, even though I had that cut at Vidal Sassoon and it looked fab. The cut itself turned out well, albeit not exactly what I wanted. However, it didn't grow out well AT ALL! After less than 6 weeks I was already disappointed and noticed the sides flipping up in a fashion that was nearly unmanagable. I feel the true test of a cut is how well it grows out. Then came the highlights. A mixture of blonde and slight tones of red. They looked good at the salon but over the next couple weeks I noticed she didn't blend my previous grown out highlights with the current highlights, leaving a distinct line across the middle of my scalp my where you could see where the previous highlights ended and the new ones began. They were not matched. It was distracting, even my husband noticed. So, needless to say I knew I wouldn't be back. Had I not purchased my services through Groupon, I would have paid over $200 for a cut and highlights! $200!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WTF? I'm sorry, but my "Level 7 stylist" was nowhere close to the $200 price tag. I didn't even think it was worth the $100 I spent.
