I was introduced to Pork on a Fork when I attended the Best of the Biltmore event this year. (Or was it Best of New Times?) Oh, well. Best of something event.
I LOVE smoked meat -- as long as it's melt in one's mouth tender and has a very smokey flavor, and the BBQ sauce has a zingy taste. And this place fits the bill. After going back numerous times to the booth during the event, I decided to check out the store -- especially since they gave us a coupon for buying something and getting something off.
I got the pulled pork, the links, and a bottle of hot BBQ sauce, all of it to go. I must admit, I didn't quite make it out of the store without sampling some of the pork and links. I wanted to see if one of the other four BBQ flavors they had on the table was something I should buy. Nope. The hot BBQ sauce was the best.
As far as I'm concerned, I don't think the meat really needs to have the sauce. I eat it plain or added to whatever dish I feel in the mood.
I've continued to go back. Buying a pound of the pork actually goes a long ways. I've also tried their mac and cheese, but I wasn't particularly impressed.
