  • My husband Steve and I have been delighted with Awnings by Design! We purchased an 18-foot Eclipse Retractable awning for our patio in May of 2013 and although we had to have it mounted a bit farther west than we originally wanted because our patio roof line has a significant curve to it, Jason and Kevin made sure we understood all of our options so we'd be happy with the the end result. We choose this awning after Jason in sales (who was great to work with) explained that this model was tested for 60,000 cycles before any wear would be visible, and came with a lifetime warranty. Steve had purchased an awning at another company years ago and not only did it shred in a few years, the company went out of business before he could get them to fix it. So back to our retractable Eclipse from Awnings by Design....about 3 and a half years after we got it, one of the side arms had an issue and it would only extend half way. I made one very quick phone call for warranty repair and Lexi was able to get the part ordered immediately. It was fixed in less than 2 weeks and most of that was time needed to coordinate with our schedules. There were absolutely no charges and we were quite pleased with how responsive and pleasant it was to work with Lexi on the repair. The awning sensors have worked well to ensure it retracts when we get a lot of wind (and being hillside we get a tremendous amount of gusts), so we haven't had any tears and the awning material itself hasn't even faded (which is amazing given all the direct sun from our south exposure). And we use the awning every single day, extending and retracting several times as it's right over our kitchen window, which gets a lot of sun. We highly recommend Awnings by Design, not only do they sell high-quality products, they do what they say they're going to do, when they say they're going to do it. We'd happily do business with them again.
