| - So, I have lived in Arizona now for a few months and, the reality is... I haven't been impressed with much of the food... I mean I was spoiled living in Los Angeles and traveling, but it is what it is... So, friends and I decided to go to DPOV for dinner tonight to celebrate my son turning 13, and even though I heard it was ridiculously overpriced, I thought sure why not... He is turning 13. So like any gay dad would do, I made a reservation, and it was quite wonderful. From the moment we walked in everyone greeted him with a happy birthday.
The food: Yes, while it is overpriced... It is spectacular... between all of us eating we had:
Bistro Tomato Infused Steak (my choice, which was amazing , beyond amazing and delicate), Duck Confit (probably the best, but apparently everyone at the table thought my risotto was better), Coriander Lamb (the mustard sauce was great, the couscous was okay), Basil Chicken (sauce was amazing), Lobster Bisque (extremely layered and wonderful), Peanut Butter Chocolate Moose, and the Mocha Espresso (pretty amazing and rich), and coffees. (I had a double espresso that was thick and wonderful)....
The Service: It was beyond exceptional, and patient as two of our party got lost and we took up the table for quite some time.
Ambiance: Gorgeous, the track lighting really does showcase the food and creates an intimate environment. It definitely is a great getaway for a date or romantic fling as it is attached to the resort.
Overall it was a pretty beautiful evening.
