  • I should mention that I prefer Lowes to The Home Depot. We're usually coming here on weekdays versus the weekend, so the parking lot seems pretty empty to me, less than 20 cars (the people inside the store also looked to be more like window-shoppers, maybe doing comparisons, while the actual paying customers were families with children). The entrance and exit doors always seem reverse to me. I always thought that was weird to me, ever since the 1990's, which is when we started coming to this store. At the time, in LV, this was the only home improvement store choice for us newbies (residents who came from other states). One of the fan arch shades was missing from our recently purchased property, so we found a replacement here (a soft white, not a harsh bright white), for $25; it wasn't the exact measurement, it was cut to fit, to customize for our window size. As long as you measure it, you're fine. It was better than getting something from Amazon just to find out that it didn't fit our needs (not to rag on the website but sometimes returns bite). Later, we ended up getting another one since I really liked the amount of sunlight filtering through the new one (the old one was also a different shade, more of an off-white or cream, which was pretty noticeable). We've been here several times. Our most recent visit was last night. We picked up two outside shades for our patio @ $30 each. We also looked at lightbulbs (one of the bathrooms needed one bulb). I also checked out the nursery section, saw some possibilities--- the prettiest was the sago palm, in different sizes, but the larger one was $29.99, including the heavy ceramic pot (I've also seen some at Lowes and Wal-mart for a lower price, minus the pots; that's why it's important to shop around). Checkout was easy as we always go through the self-checkout (no line). Returns are near the front entrance, while self-checkout is near the exit doors. The store was clean. There were many helpful clerks ready to assist us. Items also looked well-stocked. I also noticed that the plants in the nursery were freshly watered.
