The Marquee is a decent music venue and hasn't changed much since my last visit there, over 9 years ago. We got there a little after the first band went on so entrance was easy, even with the extra stop at the ID check table. If there were a line though, I could see how that might be a huge annoyance.
We parked across the street in the garage which was $7, cash only. The couple cars in front of us weren't aware of the cash only part and had to turn around. They do post the parking situation on their website but it's understandable that not everyone checks. There is a light rail station just up the road that's no longer of a walk than it is to the garage. I'll probably go that route sometime.
The bar leaves little to be desired. For this show, beers were $7. I had a Lagunitas IPA. Tasted like the keg was old. My second beer was different and much better. I'd suggest doing some pre-show drinking elsewhere but don't act stupid and show up drunk acting a fool. Security is no joke and they aren't scared to flex a little muscle.
Happy show going!
