  • Nice place for a first date as the seats are fairly far apart in the booths to allow room for the bbq pit in the middle of the table. A good way to keeps hands busy as well throughout the meal (not a chance of awkward hand holding) but dimly lit enough to make it feel intimate. Being overly prepared we called in advance and made a reservation for two along with a toddler requiring a booster seat. Upon arrival right before the dinner rush around 2:45 pm Saturday we were promptly seated and greeted and drinks came out immediately afterwards. Seemed to be the best time to come because it was empty when we first got in and filled right up starting at 3:15. The ice tea was delicious, we had refills. I noticed that the booths basically were benches and were kind of uncomfortable, with a very utilitarian feel that assured me that men probably love flocking here for happy hour with their buddies. I was not wrong once I saw the happy hour menu as it was mostly geared towards beers. We dove right into the menu and ordered pork belly and marinated Kalbi strips to bbq with rice on the side ($1.95) and I ordered the Korean soft tofu soup with seafood. Our server was attentive, not overtly friendly but helpful. Since it was just us two girls and we don't eat much we didn't get any appetizers or dessert. The first thing to come out first were the sides, which you get complimentary if you order at least two bbq dishes. There was a variety of them, what I noticed was the pickled vegetables were good, the kimchi was great and the bean sprouts were bland, but that was fine with me. Throwing them in the marinade they provide for dipping might help. Then our meats and my soup arrived. Oh my, delicious. We threw the meats on and I dug into my stew and it was instant love. Although the stone pot it comes in may seem small, the portion was perfect for me. The chef made it perfectly spicy, with a kick of kimchi taste and an egg cracked right in. There was a respectable amount of seafood in there which I appreciated, and the meats, once seared with a nice crust, were super yummy. I only needed half of the large helping of rice that came with my soup before I was full. I then turned to the sangria which I order partway through my meal just to try. It was delicious, but made with a dry red wine I didn't love, with blueberries and raspberries floating within. Perfect sweetness though so no complaints, I'm just more of a non-dry white wine person. If you enjoy red, get the sangria. If not, the plum wine might be a better choice as I love Asian plum wines, plus it's cheaper. As a side note, the women's restrooms are well-kept and clean but no place to change your baby so not too friendly for families with babies. Overall, thoroughly satisfied with the experience we had there is go back again. The only reason for the one star deduction was that it was a great experience but didn't knock my socks off with value for the price. I would go back though. A definite must for Asian cuisine foodies visiting Vegas!
