  • Um never again! I don't normally travel alone but when I do, I usually uber it. However my very thoughtful bf reserved a car for me with Budget since I had some commuting to do during my stay in Vegas.. it made my financial sense for my stay. Once arriving, I met a not so friendly bald asian man at the front desk who kept pushing me to purchase coverage that cost just as much as the car rental itself. I felt like he was trying to take advantage of me as a young, female traveler who obviously isn't familiar with car rentals. I called my bf to discuss if purchasing coverage is necessary and he said my own insurance will cover me in case anything happens. Well, this bald Asian dude gets ruder by the minute as he realizes I am not willing to pay for the coverage and asks where I'm staying. I tell him where, although he has no business asking, then gives me a sour face.. and proceeds to tell me that it's a bad area of town and if I don't purchase this coverage I will pay a ton of money if car gets damaged or broken into. I politely decline but he still wouldn't shut his mouth trying to scare me into purchasing something I clearly did not want. He continued to tell me that 1 out of 6 cars get into accidents and that it "doesn't matter" if I'm only here for two days since accidents happen so frequently every day. I left with a horrible first impression of the company. If you encounter a similar issue, google whether coverage with car rentals are necessary and you'll learn that this is a sales tactic... rental companies make a huge profit from coverages.
