  • The contractor from hades. I DIDN'T SAY LICENSED because according to AZ ROC's website (azroc.gov) as-of 2015-01-06, they aren't. Their license was SUSPENDED. They are working on a condo oomplex in Tempe anyway. They have been working on one small unit (the shingled roof is about 10-12 squares (about 1200 sq. ft.)- they started before Christmas and it went through two days of rain with the shingles and tar paper off, just the old plywood was supposed to keep the water out. Yeah. The poor people, their children and pets are all living under those roofs. They hear pounding every day, but for 10 minutes, then nothing, then an hour...nothing...another half hour....nothing as the tiny crew keeps getting moved to another roof, then eventually returns. They are working on a BUNCH of buildings a little at a time, like this. Why don't they save time and the residents nerves? I have no idea. I asked the foreman why they don't just do one roof to completion, then another until they have done them all. He told me that they are working their plan. I looked around and laughed embarassingly hard, I couldn't help it. They could easily do the one I mentioned in less than a day. I know a competitor who does. How do I know that? I called and asked a friend who is a foreman there. His opinion was that it is due to poor supervision. He didn't see it, just went by my description, which you can see above. Based on my converstaion with the non-Spanish speaking foreman, I think that might be it. I don't know who you should call for your commercial roofing needs, and wouldn't say here if I did. But to the somewhat trained eye they look like they'd do well to be schooled by rank amateurs (like me).
