| - ***FALSE ADVERTISING!!!! *** BEWARE****
We spoke with the leasing agent that quoted the rent on an 1-yr. lease as $1,225/mo. for the 3BR/2.5BA unit. (This price matched the amount quoted on the company's website.)
The agent began the application process. Then, I was emailed a link to complete the application and pay the holding fee.
Two days later we were contacted by another of their leasing agents informing us we were quoted the wrong rent amount: It was actually over $1,400/mo.
I indicated I was not interested in paying that amount. I, too, asked why I was not eligible to receive the quoted and listed price. She indicated they had not updated the website as the price on the website and quoted amount was the price prior to its renovation.
HOW IS THIS OVERSIGHT, ERROR, OR FALSE ADVERTISING THE FAULT OF THE CONSUMER?
After indicating I had no plans on renting the unit at the increased price, I was informed my money would be refunded by check. YES, I did receive the monies from Townhomes at Horizon Ridge, c/o Black Mountain Villas Apartments.
Now, I'm being harassed by a collection agency for " monetary damages". WHAT DAMAGES?!!!
Oh, and did I mention the MISREPRESENTED PRICE was still on their website THREE WEEKS LATER? AND, the first agent I spoke to was fired.
[So pleased to have screenshots, documentation, and emails to prove everything I've said and done.]
