I was about to have surgery, and my Dr. called in several prescriptions that were needed. I was told that one of them they did not have, and it would probably be in the next day. This went on for several days. I finally informed them that I needed a definite answer on whether my prescription would be in the next day or not since it was critical for my surgery and I could not wait any longer. The answer I receive was beyond rude and unprofessional. The next day my prescription did show up and I was informed that it was going to be $189 and that there was another brand that my insurance WOULD have paid for (but thanks to the delay caused by Walgreens this was now not an option!) As if that was not bad enough I then was told by Walgreen that they would not release the prescription to me until they got Dr. approval!! My response to that was that the Dr. was the one that called in the prescription so I did not understand why they would not release it until the Dr. approved it. Well they must have annoyed the Dr. as well when the Dr. called them to approve the release of the prescription because the Dr. called me and told me I needed to go pick it up elsewhere. I ended up having to drive over 100 miles (no exaggeration!) to pick it up and that place only charged $50 and even apologied for how much it cost!
