My husband and I were in town for only one night to attend a wedding. I had heard great things about the Phoenician, so even though it was a bit of a drive to the wedding venue, we booked our stay. I could not have been more pleased. The staff and the customer service were impeccable. The grounds were pristine. The rooms are spacious and well maintained. And surprisingly, the food is also delicious. We went to Relish Burger Bar, had breakfast at Il Terrazo, and even squeezed in a quick dinner at J&G, which was absolutely incredible. My husband and I travel a lot and my standards are pretty high - this place is not at the top of my list. The wonderful thing is it's a super quick trip for us coming from the Bay Area and I plan to come back often.
Oh, I think the reviews about the place being outdated are old - our room was brand-spanking new!
The only bad thing I have to say is mostly out of the control of the hotel. There seemed to be a lot of guests that were really intoxicated. They asked someone to leave the bar who couldn't stand up or speak on Friday night and there was a very belligerent woman at the pool who was drunk and cursing about politics Saturday afternoon. The hotel staff seemed to address these things, so I'm not sure there's more that can be done.
