I used to go to Williams Chocolate with my family as a kid and I always remembered it as a magical experience. However I recently returned now as an adult and I have to say that the magic of this quaint family chocolate store is gone.
It was a sunny Saturday afternoon and I walked in to a dead silent store. They really need to add some music or SOMETHING to cut the silence because my shopping experience was just plain awkward. The clerk came out from the back and just stared at me from the cash register as I browsed around. Stared at me, the only customer, in dead silence. The only sound in the entire store was the sound of my shoes as I walked around. With the clerk just staring (and without greeting me at all), I felt a little uncomfortable so I just grabbed something quickly, cashed out and left.
The chocolate I did grab, a dark chocolate "wurtle', is delicious. It's sort of like a Turtles chocolate, but made with crunchy pretzels and a super sweet caramel. It's good, but not soooo amazing that I would go back again for it. Overall I am giving Williams Chocolate an average rating - It's a one-stop-shop for chocolate and nothing more than that.
