  • BUYER BEWARE of the pricing gouge. I haven't even gotten my satellite installed yet and I'm already disappointed. I thought I was getting a great deal with DISH for $49.99 for the BASIC 190 channels. They said that I had GREAT credit so the "hopper" (their DVR) was free! yaaaay right?? Nope. They added a $10 fee for the DVR. Then they explained that its the Hopper BOX that is free, but the DVR "service" is $10. THEN DISH tells you that you get a $10 "discount" for the autopay feature. So when I look at the breakdown of the pricing there is NO $10 discount. When I asked about it they explained the "discount" is already in the pricing. So there IS NO discount. Gets better.....they also advertise that the "Hopper" covers 4 TV's ---- the truth is, when I looked at the price breakdown, is that you have to pay $7 extra (for a "Joey" box) for EACH TV you want the "Hopper" to go to. SO.....let me get this straight...DISH charges me $10 extra for something they said was free and then you don't discount the $10 autopay when you were supposed to but say its 'ALREADY IN THE PRICING", then you say the Hopper covers 4 TV's but you have to pay $7 extra for each TV. W T F?? These cable/satellite companies ALL LIE about their pricing...they will gouge you and add on BS prices and when they cannot explain the prices they say it's already included in the price. We as consumers are really really really screwed when it comes to these services.
